The new Traynor cabs-My experience

Sign in to disble this ad
I went to the local L&M, and had a spending urge, which I don't have much of, mind you. So I ended up renting one of the new Traynor 4x10 cabs, with Eminence speakers for 30$ a month.

I took it home, plugged it in to my Peavey Nitrobass head, with my Warwick $$, but my Peavey 2x10 cab with Scorpion speakers beside it, and compared them both by themselves.

OH
MY
GOD

A NIGHT AND DAY different in the clearness between the 2 cabs, even with the high end speakers in the Peavey. There was so much more bottom and depth and clarity. I plugged the Peavey back in, thinking I was imagining it, but nope. The Peavey sounded quite honkey and dirty. I want this cab bad! Even in a band scenario, everyone noticed the diff. I'm not looking forward to Dec 4th, the day it has to go back.

Pics or it didn't happen, i know.

Have you compared that TC410 (90.4 lbs.) to the recently introduced TC410NEO (59.1 lbs.)?

There's also a TC210NEO (which has a tweeter) and a TC115NEO (which does not have a tweeter).

(BTW. One would expect a 4x10 to deliver more heft than a 2x10.)

And it's contrasting speaker arrangement and tilt & roll cab design is worth a picture:

Dudes,
The recent Traynor cabs (last few years) sound bloody awesome! Quite a few people here in Canada on the West Coast love them. They are rented for a reason. You can kick em and they keep going. Presently I have a Traynor 1x15, Ampeg 2x10 and a GK800RB. I am seriously thinking of buying the Traynor Neo 4x10.
I posted a messgae last week asking if anyone tried the new one and I did not get much reply. Appreciate what you had to say. Cheers!!

Better than the Boogie Powerhouse? That cab is the sweetest 4x10 I have heard ever.

I always found Boogie cabs to be very stale sounding with different heads. Just imo.

I was honestly shocked that a Traynor sounded that good.
I think i might rent it for another month.

Traynor is good solid gear. I don't own any right now, but I have before and I will again.

As much as I enjoy supporting a Canadian business, buying locally, and all that - at the end of the day it sounds great, it's tough, the price is low, and the weight is lower.

What's not to love?

Traynor cabs are solid.

I have been using Traynor ( and Yorkville) cabs for a long, long time and they have NEVER let me down. I have found a Markbass LM III head is a great match with two TC112s for a lightweight rig (under 60lbs total) and
a SA450 with a BC210 and a TC115 for even more serious bottom.

Traynor's also have a well earned reputation for being nigh-indestructible, and nearly dirt cheap for how good they are.

Much like Peavey. And I love gear from both of them.
