NEW TUBE AMPS???

Sign in to disble this ad
I wonder if we can expect to see an ALL-TUBE amp from GK anytime in the future?
I'm also wondering if MESA-BOOGIE will be putting out an ALL-TUBE amp again soon.

---would be nice to see what these companies would put on the table---

GK has no plans that I know of for an all-tube head, but Mesa/Boogie is working on two new all-tube (or at least mostly tube) heads. No estimated date of release yet, though.

I talked to the Mesa rep at the Hollywood store about a year and a half ago and he said "something with KT88's".

I am also working on an all tube head version of my preamp...

this "carry your bass amp in your pocket" fad has to end eventually and then maybe we'll see the return of the iron.

Hi Bassboysam !! Long time no see !!!!

Every time I hear the GK gear, I am amazed at how good they sound with Rickenbacker basses !!! They bring the grit which is unique to the Ric basses. I believe my next amp, will be a GK !!!!! I will go try them for sure !! I have been 'amp-less' for a good year or so now and it's time for me to go back !!!

Funny enough I'm considering one as a backup amp.

It has! Hope all is well. GK and a Ric is a fantastic combo. Check out some live Ween clips.

You back to the Ric now? I know you had switched to Lakland for a while.

I like it a lot, but I just bought my 2nd Eden Nav preamp for $199 so its going to get real interesting to see who wins gigs.

Bassboysam,

I am still in love with my Lakland DJ 4 but also would never ever let my Rickenbacker basses down my friend !!! I am very tempted to go with the G-K amps, since I found they are the ones who seem to reproduce the best the 'gritty' tone ala Ric !!!
