new vintage amp day!

Finally managed to get my hands on a 70s SVT. After a few weeks of searching, I ended up going for this head as a trade for my V4 plus cash. I loved the V4, but lately I've been really hankering for the real deal.

After a week of sweating it out waiting for this to arrive (I now have complete and total disdain for FedEx tracking system, this was listed under two tracking numbers but they only gave the shipper and I the one that didn't work, I got the good one monday), she showed up today. I just happened to be home for lunch between work and heading out for an appointment this afternoon when I got a knock at my door. As far as I (and the fedex rep I spoke with) knew, the amp hadn't arrived at my local distribution center and I was going to go pick it up myself tonight so I'd have it for rehearsal tomorrow.

The unwrapping:

I was in your boat for a while, so I know the feeling .

Looks like this is going to have to spend some time with my tech next week. I figured it would, a cross country trip isn't likely to be kind on 35+ year old solder joints/components. It's got a bit of a buzz to it, nothing too serious, and about what I expected.
