| | | | I have GK but not sure if I like it. I have GK 700RB but not quite sure if it has enough "umph." As soon as I get my vintage SWR SM400 fixed it will go back to being a back up. I think GK's are popular because they are cheap in price but I also think the sound is a bit cheap too. |

I use TecAmp products for volume and support.
Both give me a nice warm, full-range tone that I can use other tools to tailor for the gig!

My main cab is a 1x15 Walter Box from the '70 made of 3/4" plywood glued and dado'd together loaded with a PV BW1504-4. My other cabs include an ancient PV 2x15 cab loaded with Mesa Black Shadow speakers with a wizzer cone on the top speaker, a 1x10 Walter Box with an Alnico speaker and a Mitchell 1x12 with a PV BW1204-8. |

I could pick it up with two fingers it's that light. I would talk about Genz Benz customer service, but honestly, after a year of owning this amp I haven't had to contact them once. Very versatile amp tone wise, especially with a low tone knob to tone versatility ratio. Minimal fiddling, great results. I'd maybe upgrade the focus to fEarful cost depending in the future, but at the moment this rig is exactly what I need.

I thought there were a lot more Peavey and Markbass users out there!

After growing up using a sunn colisium 300 ( which i kick myself every day for getting rid of it ), a ampeg svt 3pro series ( by far the most overrated amp I've had ), and a Kustom rig ( pretty good ) this is by far the best amp I've ever owned as far as tone. The only thing i found is it struggles a bit in the mix with certain higher frequencies. Definitely comes alive when plugging in an extension cab though ( hartke xl 115 ) this amp kills. I love it. Would definitely recommend checking into Ashdown if your lookin for something different at a decent price. Plus, thi rig fits in my corolla!!!!!! |

The majority of us (or at least a very sizable minority) have seemingly found happiness outside of the two or three biggest sellers. |

Probably a few percent just going direct and using in-ears too. It's a great time to be a bass player these days, just about anything works OK for many of us. I own 6 preamps and 3 power amps, and any combination of those would work for most of my gigs .
