Newb question about amping and ohms

Sign in to disble this ad
Alright I am a newb as far as component amp/cabs.

If the amp is 4ohm you can only use a single 4 ohm cab or two 8 ohm cabs and the head would see a 4 ohm load is this correct or no ?

so If you had a switchable amp from 2, 4, or 8 ohm. two 4 ohm cabs would make a 2 ohm load on the amp ?

Then theres bridged and mono, which is slightly more confusing.

I've seen I think its from Bergatino a 5.3ohm 410 cab is that a proprietary system ?

Sorry, I am new to this and starting to shop around for a new amp setup.

im also a newb when it comes to ohms and watts and i have a few questions myself.. if the cab is 400 watts at 4 ohms and the head is 450 at 4 ohms... are you going to be over working the speakers? or will it run at different ohms? is it better to buy a higher wattage amp then cab?
