No MarkBass 104HF out there??

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all,
With the undisputable success encountered by MarkBass, I am surprized not to hear or read more about their cabs, most specifically their 104HF (4ohms), since 4X10''s are a quite popular cab format.
Is there a reason for that?
Anyone has experience with the 104HF and/or 2X15's?
Would you recommend it?
I like to play anything from the RHCP, STP, RATM, Three Days Grace, Rush, Iron Maiden, etc... (with the occasional Slap & Pop )
Thanking you in advance

Their cabs are light and pretty loud and are decently respected here on TB as far as I can tell. I know that they are often said to sound better in a mix than by themselves as they have a bit of a high mid bump that helps them cut through.

I've heard good words about the 104HF, but have not had the chance to play one myself.

Why you hear so little is that the lightweight guys often prefer two 1x12" cabs or 1x15" or similar smaller setups. The 4x10" is not comfortable to move only by yourself anyway. So then if weight is not really that big of a factor anymore, I think you can get a cabinet as good for much less the price.

I've seen many Markbass amp users using Bergantino cabs here, AE410 for example. Everyone raves about them.

Hi there,
I've encountered skepticism from some on here, who generally admit to having never used Markbass cabinets live.
Those who own them say they love them.
In fact, check out the 2009 Bass Player Magazine readers poll, in the Best Cabinet section... the Markbass Standard 104HF is number two.
Cheers,
Peter

I have two of them and they sound great. Nice full sound that sits in the mix quite well. I play at three different churches around town so I just leave the cabinets and bring the MB head with me. It helped I was able get them both used from the same GC here in Indy, within a few months of each other.
