its actually kinda nice being content with what i have to use. i dont ever go to a practice or gig anywhere and think the whole time im playing....man i would sound so much better with that next item on my G.A.S. list. almost bliss =)

Have been looking for a lighter alternative that still has tone for the smaller rooms, just picked one up, the Roland D-bass 210. Should be great for small/medium gigs, practice, and small/light enough to transport easily.
wanted something easy for a stage monitor, I'm using IEMs now, don't really need the big rig as often, just enough for the people without IEMs to hear me, should be able to rely on the subs/pa for most of the heavy lifting.

AMEN!!!
That matches my experience also.
Read about the latest and greatest "what-ever" here at T.B.
Gota' try it...
Drive a bunch of miles to try it only to discover my inexpensive Avatar cabinets and GK head sounds as good as or better than what I thought should sound better...
But, road trips are part of the fun...(while we can still afford the gas!) |

I WILL check out mics and that sort of thing, but for my bass gear - I'm a happy camper!

(I know, but I bought it used and took the Dr. Bass logo off.) It sounds great, plenty loud and has a nice variety of tonal options! The drummer in my band told me last gig that this rig sounds better than anything he has heard in many years.

| | | | Very content. Bought my SR505 last Labor Day and I bought my GK MB115 in February. Used it at church and they said it's the best the bass ever came thru.
Got a new neck for my Jazz bass on order from Warmoth and once that's installed that'll pretty much be it for me. Also got a Squire Affinity P bass that I like to play.
I also check out stuff whenever I go to pick up new strings, but it's just to see what's out there. I'm never tempted to use the "hot plastic" in my wallet! |

I could live with just my Lakland Skyline DJ4, Ampeg SVT-VR, and SVT810E but the other stuff is nice to have. I would like an SVT410HLF and a few more Jazz basses. I think that would keep me satisfied for a few years.
