Sorry in advance.
I'm looking to upsize my current rig (SWR Triad, Peavey IPR 1600)
I loved the triad, but it just doesn't cut it in the volume spectrum, especially with me playing larger venues recently.
I play in a 3 piece prog rock band. More often than not I'm playing high note runs on my C string, and I'm often the melody over the guitar. I rarely play low bass notes, so I don't really need "thunderous lows" like so many cabs advertise. My preamp is currently a VT Bass Deluxe, I may or may not swap it out with a Rusty Box.
I want very smooth sounds, not punch like I encountered when trying an SVT 8x10.
My first thought was fEarful, but having no where to compare it to other cabs I'm a little weary of trying them. Leland from SpeakerHardware recommended looking at the Bill Fitzmaurice Jack series, trouble is I'm terrible with woodworking.
Any opinions on what I should go with?
Here's some samples of my band:
The Anima Construct
All those are pretty old, skip to 1:45 if you don't want to listen to me play with effects.
YouTube - The Anima Construct at Ragnarok (Undine)
Newer, but of slightly lesser quality.
I hope those help.
Thanks for any assistance ahead of time!
Edit: Budget would help
I can get a max of 700$ to spend on cabs, no more, definitely can go less.
