NRD GKMB500 & Schroeder PL210

Well I bought a new amp a couple months ago GK MB500, and have been trying to find the best cab to pair it with, first I tried a MBE 212 and although it was good it just lacked something , then I went to a pair of cabs a MBE 115 & MBE 210 stacked, and it sounded pretty good but not quite what I was after, so I sold the MBE 115 and opted for a second MBE 210. this sounded better but left me having to carry around two cabs to get the sound I was after. So a little searching around and I found a Euphonic VL210 cab and although it sounded great it was only an 8 ohm cab and with the weight of it , i didn't want to pair it with another heavy cab. So in my frustration I called Jorg Schroeder and told him my situation . I said I wanted a small lightweight single cabinet that can cover all my gigs. So at his recommendation I opted for a 4 ohm PL210. (this is no run of the mill 210 cab It can handle 700 watts at 4 ohms and weighs around 50 lbs) At first i was unsure this little cab could do what I needed but at this point I am amazed , paired with my GKMB500 this cab is devastating ..

Congrats on finding what you were looking for.

I'm kind of in a similar situation. I have an MB500 & was considering an MBE 212 & maybe adding a 2nd one later. I don't mind bringing two cabs for bigger gigs as those aren't very big & heavy.

My main bass is a 6 string & my two current cabs (usually only bring one) are a Kustom G410H & an SWR Big Ben.
They both sound great and if I use both together, I might make the audience poop themselves unless it's a very large venue.

What didn't you like about the MBE212? I've been curious how cleanly it can handle a low B at stage volume w the MB500.

for me it was just that the cab added to much color to my tone , the schroeder does not do this at all , very clean and pronounced tone really makes the head stand out
