And in line with the band line-up, when the headcase hadn't arrived yet (it's a horrible pic, I know):

All I need now is a GS412 and a DB751 to settle my amp GAS. |

Well, the DB750 I've had for about 7 years now.
I don't have the DB810 or the GS212 any longer. I've had the 412 the longest, along the way had them ALL for a year or more to work out what I actually did like by using all four in rotation on heaps of different gigs to work it out.
The GS412 is IT for me, followed closely by the GS410.
Great gear!

Great gear! | Indeed it is!
From previous trials (its been a while) I remember preferring the sound of the GS series over the DB. Unfortunate, cause I fancy me some boss tweed!
But I havent had the chance to try anything bigger than a 410. The only place that carries Aguilar up here usually has a limited stock on the floor.

It seemed muffled compared to the GS412 and it was significantly noticeable, when, on a gig, I ran them BOTH together it was like the 810 was under a blanket when sitting next to the 412?
Maybe something to do with the GS front porting vs. the DB rear porting as to how it "speaks" but, I just couldn't get into it.
What I did find is that that cab IMO needed to be dripping in power as it's unholy loud when pushed, and, on a big stage that's great, but, on most of the gigs I do, not only is the GS412 more manageable weight wise, the 12's are more "immediate" ie. sound great where you stand without having to be ripping loud (it still get's very loud and sounds great) but, I found the DB810 HAD TO BE loud but was never as clear in the venues I was in?
Just my experience? don't worry, when I DID sell it I was having second thoughts for days but thought hey, it's an awesome cab to look at and it IS / WAS very cool (and VERY imposing on most stages) just not the sound "I" wanted.
When I want the 10" sound, I find the GS410 to be a better cab (than the DB810) as it can still be driven hard (but doesn't have to be) it's tighter sounding and I think the front porting helps for MY sound... again for me, much clearer than the DB810 was? particularly with the DB750.
Btw, I would loooooooove a TWEED GS412!!!!! that would be cool!
Cheers!
