New question: When looking at 12ax7 tubes like the Telefunken's, is there a difference sound wise between "Smooth plates" and "Ribbed Plates"? what are the differences and why would I want one over the other?

I did a few comparisons using a DBX 163X Overeasy Compressor on the DB680 & DB359. I prefer it much more in front. Smooths and fattens the bass, then into the Aguilar for it's clean tube tone. |

I absolutely needed to have a compressor in front of that one or it would fart the peaks. My DB751 and TH500 are just fine without. I only use a compressor in front with some funky filter effects that seem to have a tendency to boost the pass band a bit too much (EHX Enigma for instance).

| | SQUID | | | | | I need a single 112 cab for reggae/acoustic singer/songwriter small gigs. Would I be ok with a gs112nt as opposed to the gs112 or is there a huge difference? |

You will only be missing those zingy tweeter highs which you probably don't want. They are great little cabs. Very fat and clean. And since you can find them used at very reasonable cost, you could always add a GS112 giving you the option of running two for louder gigs and having a tweeter. |

On the floor, still in the box, having just been delivered and not yet put in the stockroom, was a GS112. Since I've been itching to go 2x112, I bought it. (ordered another cover while I was at it)
With the GS series considered mid-scooped, what heads are you GS users running with them? I was able to take home a used GB Shuttle 9.0 to demo, and it was ok, but I didn't love it enough to want to buy it. I like my TC Electronic Classic 450, but I'm still in the market for a 2nd head (or even a '1st' head if it'd be a better match than my Classic). |

I love my AG500, but the year or so I had DB680/DB728/Agro/GS412 was the best. |

Havent heard anything about them at all basically. I know they have issues getting the neo speakers, but somebody has to have these things? Or at least a review of them... |
