i just really noticed the way this cab is ported....... strategic 5 x 1" ports instead of a 1 x 5" single port or a 5" w x 1" h slot port hmmmmm whatdya know? still handles every note my 5'er can dish out...... with authority.

Here's mine- I got it over 30 years ago and it was only the chassis, no cabinet, speakers, etc. The chassis has a bend in the lower edge near the rectifier tube and I suspect it was dropped from a loading dock or it fell off of a truck. When the BMRI came out, I bought the RI cabinet, hardware and speakers so it would be complete but I never liked the new look of the tweed, so I "aged" it about 5 years ago. No rips or scrapes but it does look better than pale, new tweed.

It was used for the Tweed Bassman tracks on the Vintage Amps CD that comes with the Tom Wheeler book 'The Soul Of Tone- Celebrating 60 Years Of Fender Amps'. At the time, it had a Groove Tubes solid state rectifier. Since then, I have replaced that with an old 5V4G rectifier tube, replaced the bias caps, re-installed most of the original yellow Astron caps and installed a set of NOS Sylvania 5881 output tubes. It's much better, now. Too bad I didn't do all of that before the recordings.

What speakers did you go with? And.... Are you just using your bassman only as a guitar amp? The pictures I think have guitars propped on it.

I like to keep the roster simple so you can be 17.
