Mine does so I'm wondering if this is normal or not. I have emailed Markbass today but haven't got a reply yet.

| | | | ok, so i did some trolling over at the TH500 thread and now time to do some here. i have a few questions. one of the reasons the TH500 is appealing to me is because people are saying that it does the low mid, finger funk thing really well.
can markbass do this as well?
im currently using a walter woods head, are markbass heads different enough to justify one?
im considering the LMII or III or the lower powered MoMarks because of the "analog" power section. (im one of the lunatics who thinks you can hear the difference) and i dont currently own a non-class D amp, so i thought that might be a nice change from the WW amp. is the power section of the MoMark and the LM III similar? given the right components, will they sound similar? |

You would probably have to order one and return it. I love my 2x604 rig but one might be too light for a moderate - loud rock band. I do use one at rehearsal and cuts through fine.

Just asking as I know the Little Mark Tube 800 obviously has a tube and would the heat from it cause an issue?

im currently using a walter woods head, are markbass heads different enough to justify one? | I've never played a Walter Woods, so I can't answer that. I've had a TH500 and a Big Bang and played with the LMIII a bit. The TH500 does have that midrange thing going on, but it's just a completely different animal. It's a very specific sound IMO, and you have to be all in for that organic, tube-compressed chewiness. MarkBass is way more versatile and can dial in a much bigger range of tones that are solid and clear throughout. Now, some people don't need that versatility and can really use that Aguilar character to its fullest, but while you can get midrange presence you're not going to get that flavor with any tweaking of the MarkBass knobs.
