The official overdriven, fuzzed out and distorted club

Sign in to disble this ad
Well I have been asking many questions since i joined this place and most have to do with this subject so I figured I would make a club so the information is easier to find. This club is for people who play their Marshall, Hiwatt, Orange, Ampeg or whatever amps to the point on sonic destruction. I am currently rocking my !981 Fender Bassman 135 with an Ibanez Ts9 between the channel jumper. I would love to add a nice Marshall or Hiwatt to my rig but as of now money is not allowing it. I am thinking of getting the British or Leeds character pedal to replace the TS9. I will post pictures later. Pm me for numbers.

Seems like a crappy group. If you're gonna do it right, you should get rid of those pedals and use the overdrive from the amp, or a fuzz/distortion from a quality pedal. I see a noise surpressor and tubescreamer there. I don't understand at all. Why do you need all these tube amps for it too? I can get one sexy, gritty overdriven Gallien-Krueger. Not the same as a tube amp, but to me, that's what I love about it. Complete different animal.

love amp overdrive...can't even turn up a b-15 loud enough on my gigs to get distortion or i'd get canned. so does it count if i use a vt pedal into an ampeg tuber to get it?

No, my friend, I don't, not even for 1 millisecond! I lived through the founding of the electric bass. We had to learn our craft from trial and error. The distortion that I had to live with I absolutely hated, but that was all there was. It took me nearly forty years to get rid of that crap. I find it so ironic that the distortions we had to live through and work with are now the tones you young guys are actually searching for! Sorry but I find that kinda sad and I pity you. Find your own sound and make it yours. Me I like my bass to sound like one!

Maybe it should be called "The Dirty Bass Tone Club" or something. For people who play with some sort of grit, drive, or fuzz on/going all the time. As per paul i play both sides, Super efficient clean loud bass tone and super od fuzzed out tone. Shucks i just bought a Genz 9.0 two days a ago but ill always love my Rickenbacker with a boost ped in front of my svt pure bliss in both houses.

Your tone is who you are. I think your tone says a lot about your personality. Here's mine:

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page...songID=9760603

That's a 15 dB clean boost into my Marshall amp. Rotosound flats on my SG Bass. I don't need a number, I just thought I'd share.
