Ohm load questions???? Markbass

Sign in to disble this ad
Maybe someone out there can help....

I have 2- Markbass NY 121 cabs. Both are 8 ohms.
I also have the Markbass 210 cab which is 4 ohms....

CAN I use all three cabinets with the Markbass LittleMark Tube 800 head without damaging it? The amp is 500W @ 8 ohms, 800W @ 4 ohm. I am sure the amp is not designed to function at 2 ohms, right. I would appreciate any solid advice as to how I can, or cannot use these 3 cabs together. Thanks in advance!

OK. Is it that if I tie the 2- 8 ohm cabs together that makes 4 ohm, right? Then if I tie two 4 ohm loads, does that make 2 ohm? sorry, I know Fender basses, but not much about amps! Thanks!!

If you tie them in positive to positive and negative to negative it will become 2 ohm.

If you take the one cab's positive and tie it to the negative of the other, and then use the pos/neg wires left over to your amp it will be 8 ohm.

Do not go to 2 ohm, your amp will not be happy, heating issues and a myriad other things happen, causing the smoke to escape.

you're right. so no, it can't be done with just the lm800t.

Thanks Man. I'll stick to using 2- 8ohms together or just the single 2 x 10 cab alone. I applicate all this great advice!
