Ohms?

Quick question, I'm looking to buy a new amp, and I'm not sure what Ohms have to do with the sound?

Also, What is power handling, and RMS?

I feel a little incompetent as a bassist of two years and having no idea what any of this is, but I need to know soon, so any knowledge on this is great.

+1 familiarize yourself with the terminology by reading through the amps forums. Start with the FAQ's and stickies at the top.

If it was a snake, wouldn't it be posted in the "Live Sound" forum?

Ohms have nothing to do with sound.
