Hi!
I hope some Ampeg experts will help me
What do you think about this cab:

How old can it be?
How much is it worth?

Thanks in advance for your help

my guess is mid to late 70's (smooth tolex, white logo with the silver/blue grill cloth-painted black in this case). IMO that era of 8x10 cabs sound great.

Thanks.
Didn't cabs from that era have straight back (rather than slant like that one)?

It does make sense, as it is definitely very old ("Linden, New Yersey" factory on the plate).

Unless the speakers have been replaced, pull a couple of them and check the date code. That'll give you a good time frame. BTW - the square to slant back occured somewhere in 1973. I know because I have one of each that are all original and the speakers are all 1973.

i would think it would have to be 74 since that was the year magnavox moved ampeg to elkhart.

Did you sell your soul for that cab? Worth the price, anyways, for that ungodly tone.

It's worth about as much as it weighs.
