Old School 1X15 Cabinet

Sign in to disble this ad
I am looking to build an Old School 1X15 sealed cabinet. The Eminence CB158 and the Deltalite 2515 both have very nice curves in a sealed cabinet. Between the two which way would you go?

You might also want to consider the BassLite C2515. 4 ohms, if that matters.

Am curious which old school 1x15 sealed cabinets you're thinking of. All the 1x15 cabs in my memory were ported.

Basslite C2515 without question IMO.

Don't go sealed. Port it. You can put it in a pretty small cab, tune it a little higher and it will really kick out the lo-mids/upper bass. It will do "Old School" very well on it's own without a mid or tweet.

I built two of them in their own 115 cabs and they were light and hellishly loud for what they do best. They were only 20X20X16 and about 25 lbs. or so each.
