That would be a "straight-back" or "square-back" SVT cab. The original. Made 69-73, exact dating can be found by looking at the speakers, they should have a 137-YY-WW number (CTS, year, week). If it's an early enough model, the quarter inch jack is a replacement as it would have originally been a 4-pin connector.

That is the king of 8x10s IMO, I love mine. Fantastic sound.

Yes my friend, you have gotten yourself a flatback. If it has the original CTS drivers in it, you're in possession of the "gold standard" of vintage 8x10 cabs, tonewise.

NOTE: these era cabs are only rated for 240 Watts (they intended for most users to use two of them with an SVT).

Many people (myself included) prefer these lower-rated cabs because you can really whack those drivers and get a better sound that the later '70's 8x10s. Just be careful not to hurt the poor thing.

Looks like a lot of fun ....Does that say 8 0hms? In any case, I have 2 of the newer 810 cabs. The one you show might be as old as 30 yrs. I'm sure you'll get many more posts telling you much more. My question is "How does it sound?" It should break all of your dishes, since its in the kitchen...best of luck with it.....

Looks just like mine. You won't be disappointed with it. Mines a PITA to move around because it's missing the dolly board and has no wheels but it's worth it.

Welcome to the happy cab Ampeg club. Looks like it's been through a lot of good times. Although not everyone is in to doing it, I love rehabing cabs like that. Here's to hoping it's still got the original speakers in it. Congrats.

I have had new SVT cabs but never a straight back. Im not not sure if the all of the speakers even work, but if they don't I guess thats part of the $100 price tag and part of the rebuild.

if they're cts's, it's well worth it to have the broken ones reconed.

yep, those are the cts's...you have a 73 cab like mine. definitely if any speakers are broken, get them reconed. the cts's are the gold standard in those cabs. you made out for $100.

The recone with return shipping was $68. It cost me about $14 to send it out.
Well worth it IMO.
-Bill

PS: I only had one driver repaired.

If I re-cone all the speakers and restore the out out side to stock what is this cab worth?
