Oldest bass amp news ever

I was in a recording studio recently. They had an Ampeg SVT-VR with the matching 8 x 10 cabinet. They allowed me to plug on and try it out. Man, that thing sounded great. I do fine with my PF-500 and two cabinets, but this made me wonder if I should be trying out a Micro-VR.

No you heard a all tube SVT-VR, the Micro-VR will not be the same. IMHO.

I realize that, but I have read that the tone is similar. Also, I saw a live band once (Yuck) who used the Micro and it sounded very good.

Micro VR and Sansamp BDDI/VTbass both do a pretty good impersonation, about the same level of accuracy to me, but theres nothing like the real thing
