I have researched and demoed the new portaflexes and have decided to go with the PF-500 but can't make up my mind about which cab to get. I have only found a 2x10 to play through locally and it sounds great but of course I'm not on stage playing with a band. Currently I am playing through a BA-115 and not crazy about its sound. I generally like a sound that is brighter than deeped, hate muddy but obviously you need a good low end at all times. Will need to power small rooms, medium/large room will run direct. I can't afford adding a second cab now and would rather not have to down the road because I really like the less is more approach but I would be willing to do that down the road if needed.
So, do I go 2x10 because it might be more the sound I like and I can add another 2x10 later if needed? Or do I go 1x15 because it might handle everything I need so I don't need to add another cab later (no desire to have 2 1x15s or a mixed set anyway).
Has anyone played around with both cab types yet? Or bought one, returned it and went with the other?
Thoughts?
