which one should i choose, and why?
I have a choice between a behringer 810 cab/behringer bx3000t head, an ampeg micro-vr/ashdown 810 MAG, a hartke lh500/hartke 810 or a combination of one of these. Which one would you choose and why?
Thanks in advance!
Hartke cab and amp. The Ampeg is cool too, but the Hartke has 500w.
Behringer stuff is a good way to throw away ur money. Do a search on to see ppl's experiences with em. Not great.
I would do the Ampeg/Ashdown just based on what I've read about them. Never owned either. Read good things about Hartke too. Behringers are inexpensive for a reason.
I would go for the Hartke LH500 and the Ashdown MAG just because i have a MAG 410 cab and i love how it pumps the lows.
I don't have any experience with high end cabs so i can't compare but to my ears it sounds great.
Esthetically i also prefer the ashdown.
One thingis sure, discarded Beringher option.
I would choose Hartke, 'cause the Ampeg you are thinking of has not enough watts for a 810.
Why not an Ampeg Portaflex 350 + Ampeg 810 cl? (Similar in price if the Hartke 810 you mean is the Hydrive)
Note: I voted Hartke, but would try an Ampeg.
I would get a Hartke HA5500 and their 810 cabinet. That amp has the same power but more flexibility than the LH500 with a graphical equalizer and a compressor built in. The LH500 is a capable amp but I like the HA5500 better.
BTW - I recently had an opportunity to play through an Ampeg 6x10 cabinet for a few hours and I thought it sounded great. You might want to consider it also.
