Opinions on Ampeg SVT-806HE Bass Cabinet

I've scoured the net and found very little about the Ampeg SVT-806HE Bass Cab. Apparently production was stopped around 1999 or so.
Just wondered if anyone thought it was a decent sounding speaker. I've got the opportunity to pick one up and I really don't want to move my 1976 SVT 8x10 out of the basement any longer.

4 ohms
has 8 6.5 speakers and a horn

I'd never heard of an 806 and I've never seen or heard an 808. I'd love to see an 812E though. Too bad they only exist in my twisted mind...

My warning is that it probably won't move as much air as a 410 will.

Owned one...

IMHO, good Ampeg-esque mids and highs...seriously lacking in the lows. Won't even begin to compare to an 8x10.

Try before you buy!!!

FWIW, I paid $300 for a brand new one in 2002.

I've been beating the Hell out of my SVT-806HE for several years now. I love this cab. I agree that it is weakest in the lows but I've never been disappointed by simply boosting the low EQ on my amp (or cutting the rest... yadda yadda..).
