Opinions On Ashdown?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've been shopping around for a new head, and I have to say I like the look of the Ashdown rigs, but I haven't had a chance to play through one. I'd be using it for Jazz and my college pep band. Anything on what kind of depth and tone I can expect would be great.

LOVE mine.
Just A/B'd my EVO II 500 heads with a few different Ampegs, and was blown away.
Proud to be one of their artists.

Love my MAG 115 combo! Very warm. Haven't had any problem with it, except the little light in the VU meter went out. But they sent me a new bulb for free. I think it has been an EXCELLENT value in an amp.

Might be a bit late to add, but I absolutely love my MAG600 head and 410. Someone mentioned reliability problems but I haven't had any on my one for as long as I've had it.

I'd like to hear from anyone who happens to own one of the combos and gigs/travels with it regularly. How's it holding up for you?

I have been using Ashdown amps and cabs for over a decade. More versatile than people are aware of. Very clean sounding and solid.

I also own a ABM series 210 500wt combo and I have traveled with it. No issues at all with reliability. Once I had to change the bulb in the vu meter(but that's expected after so many hours of use over the years.

I an Ashdown endorser.

I've owned an ABM 500 head and ABM 410H cab for 5 years now and I couldn't be happier with it. It's very versatile and the with the sub harmonics engaged it SERIOUSLY rocks the house. And not to mention it looks super cool.

My ABM 500 RC has been used and abused for the last 5 years and never missed a beat. No question from me over reliability.
Plenty of powerful warm sound and a great control set.

i gigged a 180 watt 1x15 ashdown combo quite regularly for a few months, against 2 guitarists with halfstacks and a loud drummer in a hardcore band. My amp was as loud as I could get it at every show, no issues, and sounded great. Of course it needed PA support with that loud of a band, but it still held it's own pretty well. My ashdown could definitely take a beating.

My current ashdown electric blue 112 combo amp has been gigged with for twelve years.. and still running strong. A serious workhorse.

That is good to know because I really like the specs on Ashdown combos.

Yep, my Ashdown sounds great, awesome midrange and deep bass whenever I need it. A little tip if you need a bit more volume, turn off the EQ. You can get a reasonable amount louder without it on.

I have an Ashdown Electric Blue 180 head and its been gigged with and its always easy to dial in a great tone with plenty of volume with good cabs. I'd have to say its the loudest 180 watts I've ever heard.
