opinions on the Fender Bassman TV Duo Ten amp

Sign in to disble this ad
I currently rely on a 450 watt Ampeg head w/ a 300 watt Hartke cabinet as my go to setup, and I'm looking to downsize to something more portable, but comparable in power. I am really interested in the Fender Duo TV 2x10 amp both because of the combo aspect (for portability), the Fender brand name, and the fact that is has a tube preamp.

Buy Fender Bassman TV Duo Ten 350W 2x10 Bass Combo Amp | Hybrid Combo Amps | Musician's Friend

Has anyone had experience with this amp?

Very nice sounding amp, and looks really cool too, but its lack of expandability put me off of its price.

+1

Also, try the single 15" version, if you can. I preferred the tone of this one over the 210...

I bought one last month, and I'm very pleased. The tone is absolutely incredible, plus it doesn't get classier than lacquered tweed.

Thanks for the info! I had not considered that the TV 15 might sound better. Know of any technical reasons why this might be the case?

I thought I'd get the 15 before I A Bed. I liked the sound of the 2 x 10 better. It was really low, with more punch and articulation. The 15 Felt Flat and not nearly as loud in comparison... same wattage but less air?

As far as the TV's Expandability goes... use your line out! You'll need another head but they are around.

When I'm not using my XLR line out to the PA and want another cab, I run the line out to my Markbass Combo and can add another 2x10 and a 15 if needed. And it all sounds like a very big Bassman tube amp
