Opinions on new Fender Rumble cabs?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm shopping for a mobile but reasonably powerful rig, and these (2x8 and 112) catched my eye. Well, just online, as I didn't have a chance to really see or try them. Specs look really good. If I decide to buy these cabs, I'll probably use them with a Hartke LH500, TC Electronic BH500 or Ampeg PF500 head - this is also to be decided yet. Only tried the Hartke out of this bunch.

Has anyone had a chance to play through these cabinets yet?

I'm also considering TC Electronic BC212 and BC210 (I like cabs that you can stack either horizontally or vertically, tried that with 2x Warwick wca211pro and noticed considerably better sound clarity when stacked vertically; my audiophile brother has some theories explaining this), they are cheaper and I generally trust this brand. But they are also bigger, heavier, uglier and have rear porting, which I dislike.

I took a chance on the Rumble 350 head and the 2X8 and
1X12 cabs. I've used them for 3 jobs so far and they have been great! Here is the link...Fender Rumble

I played the head and 2x8 cab at a local shop last night. I was going to try the 112, but I was having too much fun with the 2x8. What a smokin' and thick sounding little cab. I bet a couple of those stacked sideways so the cones align would sound killer!

I assume because those Bassman cabs or no longer in production that the new Rumbles are taking their place.. The Rumble 4x10 even looking very similar to the Bassman 4x10, so if they are anything like the Bassman cabs then they are great sounding cabs. I have a heard lot of good things about the new cabs and heads too. I sold the Bassman's I had, however still am holding on to the Rumble 15 I use for practice in my apartment and it is a decent little cab as well

funny thing is, the 410 is quite a bit cheaper than the 2x8, and exactly the same price as the 112. Looks like 2x8 and 112 both have better speakers than the 410.
