My current setup is a Genz shuttlemax 12 putting 600 watts into a 4 ohm Avatar 2x12 Neo.
I'm ready to pull the trigger on a new AD200B and will be using it with my current cab in a 4 piece indie/rock band that isnt obscenely loud.. for reference im running my genz in the tube channel with the pre set at about 3/4 and the master never really gets much higher than 9:30..
im wondering i'll be able to get enough clean volume with "just" 200 watts.
Anyone here have any experience with the AD200B into a single 2x12?
Thanks!

You can get a pretty massive amount of clean, but I love a slightly overdriven tone, so the horn goes off and I turn the gain up.
It is a very LOUD amp, dont be worried about that. It will seem like its the same wattage as the Genz but possibly feel 'bigger' with it being tubes.

Never above 1/3 at gigs (soundman regulated) |

First the tone and style (incl the 8 ohms capability) won me over, then I tested it at band levels with the single OBC115 and it sounded huge....very loud.
It's a great amp, simple controls, amazing tone.

Obviously it doesn't quite have the fullness of my 8x10, but I have never had a problem with the 2x12 in "moderately loud" bands. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
