Orange and Ampeg

I love the clean tones and power of my SVT-4PRO 1600w. I love the gritty overdrive of the Orange 15w Tiny Terror. Is there a way I can somehow use an A/B switch to turn the Tiny Terror into an effect pedal? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you verified that the sound of the tiny terror is there at the DI level?

You can do it cleanly with two ABY boxes. One to split the bass signal into 2 signals to feed the inputs of the amps. The second is in the efx send/return of the Ampeg. "A" would come from the Ampeg send, "B" would come from the tiny terror send, and Y would be the selectable out (A or B) output to the return of the Ampeg.

You could check out the Earthquaker Devices Monarch overdrive. Its circuit is based on an Orange amp. You can check out a guitar demo here.

To add to this a little, if you split the signal of your bass to feed two amps, I would probably always keep it in the "on" position just due to the slight level decrease you will get when splitting. Turning it off will make the signal a little louder for either single amp mode, which isn't want you want.
You can split numerous ways. The ABY pedal, or even a tuner with a bypass output (as well as the mute output) on something like a Boss TU-3 would also work for splitting the signal if you have one. You could silently mute if you don't have the Tiny turned on with that second ABY pedal.
One issue you will need to address is where to get the DI out. Hopefully your Ampeg's built in DI can be set post EQ, but also post EFX return. It probably is, but verify. You really want the signal right before it hits the Ampeg's power section. If not, you will most likely be forced to mike the cab or you won't be able to use just one DI to the FOH. That's what I'm thinking, anyhow.

Does the Tiny Terror have DI or send? I always thought it had to be miked.
Tech 21 makes an Oxford pedal based on one of the Orange guitar heads, not sure which one but it sure looks interesting.

It does not appear to have a DI out. I wasn't expecting that. You would need some type of speaker level DI to get this to work through your EFX return, and you also need to have at least a 16 ohm speaker on the amp to risk not damaging the tube power amp. This changes things. I would just split your bass into two rigs, and mic the Tiny and DI the Ampeg.
