Orange Amps 810 --- Whats the skinny?

Any TB'ers own this cab? I'm usually wary of ported 810's...

Owners, please comment on strengths / weaknesses, compare to other big cabs you've owned / played

I'll tell you one thing that's not skinny about it. THE PRICE!

I used it at a festival where orange back lined. the cab sounds really good I will not take that away from it. but the price makes me not want it. I can get a Berg 610 an be just as happy. hell! My Emperor 612 was a fraction of the cost and that was with a road case.

They look pretty. They sound good enough. But their price alone makes me look elsewhere.

I own Ampegs and Fender Pro Cabs. the 810E is $999, the Fender810 Pro costs around $1199. Guitar Center has the Orange Cab for $2100...I dont see it at all. I know its real nice looking but it doesn't pay . You can get
(2) Ampegs or 2 of another similar brand and do with more for less.......NOw if they were less $$$ then people would buy them , maybe !

as I said It sounds good. If you got the cash. go for it. IMHO There are other cab's that sound similar if not better.

What cabs sound similar? I'm just trying to get a feel for the overall tone and performance of the thing..
