Orange Bass Terror 1000 - Anyone demo'd one yet? Which cab to pair with it?!

Sign in to disble this ad
Thats a LOT of power. Would it be safe running it into an Aguilar DB212 4 ohm?

It states in the online manual, 900W at 8 ohm, 1000W at 4 ohm (for the Bass Terror 1000).

Is it safer to pair it with a Berg NV cabinet?

Cheers

I can't even imagine how loud this would get, I have the 500 watt version and it gets hella loud! And it's not often one can use the word "hella" but the Orange Terror Bass is worthy of it

We played through these at Summer NAMM, and they are ridiculously loud! The 500-watt Terror Bass is screaming loud, itself, so while I view the Terror Bass 1,000 as definitely overkill, the price tag isn't much more than the 500, and with that preamp, you can get plenty of grind even when you're not pushing the output section.

Edit: Here is a clip of Damon Waller playing through the Terror Bass 1,000 at Summer NAMM.

Tom.

What's strange to me about the TB 1000 is that it seemingly disappeared from the official Orange webpage:

http://www.orangeamps.com/products.a...on=List&Cat=20

I'm playing the 500watt version through an Warwick WCA 611pro and I cannot crank it above 10 o'clock in the master section. Though I'm still interested in the 1000watt version.

Do I NEED 1000 watts? prob not.. but for a bit more cash it might be worth it...
I assume the price on the terror 500's will drop... I'm very interested in the orange pre...guess it's the same as the ad200 ..i dunno. I am covered on the ss side of things with my TFunk but have a growing interest in tubes..be cool to split a signal clean with effects to the TF and overdriven tube to an orange.

Anyone compare the ad200 to the terror?..huge noticable difference in tone?

The only thing different is the output section.

Well, I have the link to Damon playing through the Terror Bass 1,000, above. Here is the link to him playing through the AD200.

Sounds interesting, but you couldn't really tell from his playing what it would sound like in a real situation - not to insult him, but his tone sounded exactly the same both times, just clanky grindy, snappy pick bass, where as a 1000W amp through an 810, you want to hear some big, low, deep rumble. Not really possible on a camera mic, maybe.

Orange confirmed with me that the 1000W version will be hitting the UK before Christmas 2010...I think they are still testing it and sorting production.

Id like one, but 1000W is overkill for me. the BT500 is realllllly loud.

Ill see if I can test one when they are released.
