It's been on MF's website for probably over a week now.
Edit since June 18th.
Become a fan of MF on facebook. They posted the news that day.

So how good is Orange stuff, really? Especially for bass. Would welcome comments from any bassists who have owned past or present.

The brand really seems to be the "new hip thing" among guitarists, I know that. Kinda reminds me of the big buzz around Mesa Boogie awhile back and Marshall before that. Are the products that good, or are they just doing a really good job of marketing right now?

Cue the rumors that Orange has been bought by MF/GC.

I heard that Orange has been bought by MF/GC.

Haven't even looked, to be honest. But what I do know is that with mass distribution inevitably comes loss of quality control. Speaking only for me; if I'm paying boutique prices for something, it had better be damn good and if it's not the customer service had better be lickety-split and then some. Just saying...

FWIW, I've been aware of Orange & the buzz around Orange for as long as I've been playing, as the bands and musicians I've dug have used their amps and cabs. I imagine the same is true for you, too, and you just don't realize it.

As for their stuff, I can't really help you on the head front, as I don't own a current production head, and you can do a search on their cabs. Suffice it to say that I think both are absolutely fantastic, and I'm glad that they're now getting their due popularity wise.

One of my band's guitarists was getting all excited about that Tiny Terror head a few months back, but he never pulled the trigger on one. And I did a one-off project a couple years ago with another guitarist that had an Orange half-stack. But that's the total exposure I've had to the brand.

Was hoping that the mass marketing / sales of MF/GC would lower the prices but not so

I use a Tiny Terror bass with an SP212 and OBC115 and I'm really happy with the sound. I was using a Mesa D180, and a GK RB1001II prior to the Orange, and I am thrilled with the new sound, and the ease of transport. If the GC takeover s true I'm glad I got mine prior to the takeover. I had to wait for my Orange gear, because they weren't doing a mass production thing, which was fine with me.
