i guess im putting this here becuase it has to do with my amp being repaired, but not sure if this is the right spot.

i was told that GK doesnt know how good the techs are there. Need to get my MBE410 fixed. so im wondering if anyone in western, ma has gone there to get their amp (gk or not) fixed. they are the only place in western, ma that can fix GK amps under warranty.

Good luck trying to communicate with them. All I got was an answering machine and on three separate occasions left a message and received no call back. I drove by the joint on a weekday afternoon thinking it would be open and I could just step in. Surprise, It was closed and when I peered through the window I saw alot of haphazardly stacked equipment/junk. They didn't strike me as a functioning business where I'd want my amp serviced, warranty or not.

Orange Sound is not an option from my perspective. Good luck.

While I personally have no experience with them, the guitar player in my band did have his Laney 2x12 combo serviced there about 4 years ago. They (I think "he" would be more accurate) can be a little hard to get ahold of as mentioned above, however the service was top notch and he has no problems at all since then.

The amp was in really bad shape when my buddy bought it and it needed extensive work. The job took a bit on the long side - 3 to 4 weeks if I recall correctly - but the job was thorough and professional.

Again, I do not have direct experience, but that was my memory of the job.

Best of luck! Western MA truly is a dead zone for qualified techs!!

If you don't mind a 45 minute drive down to East Hartford, give Larry Smetana at Accutech a try: Home Page
