Orange TB1000

I'm looking at replacing my wt800 with an Orange TB1000. I tried and tested the new amp; its lightweight and had a great tone and sound in the shop, has anyone used one in a rehearsal up against guitars though?

tb500 is loud.
when it worked.
I went through 5 units. all with a problem cutting out (kinda like all the class D/smps amps with the same problem : ampeg svt 7pro, pf500...).
push it a little & it cuts outs.
search the forum. plenty of people with the same problem. all different amps...
but the last tb500 I got from the factory has been golden. & they were quick to send new ones until I got one that worked.

Not all D class amps have problems, that's a fairly raging over-statement, IMO, and IME.
I've used many of them, though not the 1000 watt Orange.

I can say, I never felt like I needed more power in a band context with the 500 version.

Thanks for the advice also, what do you play your TB500 threw? I've been looking at the Orange - OBC410 verses SP410 and was even thinking of getting 2 SP410's ? Also where is a good place to sell old gear?

I had the SP210 and SP212.
Nice enough cabs if you can live without a horn.

Quite a few...you can look at my profile.
the 210/212 rig was loud enough for me, but, "not ragingly loud," like 2x410 loud...

What sort of stuff do you play? Is the mesa gear good?

I have a TB1k. Has been working great since I got it 4 months ago both at practice and gigs. I think the issues were on the 500's when they came out, first production run.

I get nothing but complements on the tone from this amp.

FYI - The difference between the TB500 and 1000 is about 3db, this is straight from Orange. So what you really get with the TB1k is more clean headroom.

I run my TB1k with a DNA DNS-410.

Check these cabs out...

David Nordschow Amplification: Home

I have a DNS-410 4 ohm. The sound is huge and really complements the TB1k. This guy was the brains behind Eden, and has a new company. I think these are the best cabs I have ever owned.

I didn't mean all class D had problems.
and it usually was the first run, but orange kept sending me the latest run that "fixed the issue" but it hadn't.
I do believe it's fixed now.
as ampeg might've fixed the 7pro.
it is just discouraging.
I'm very glad your amp works consistently & is reliable. I wish I would've had that same experience.
