I am usually a fan of all tube heads but wondered if these were worth checking out. The price makes solid state tempting. |

Had the chance to try the Bass Terror and the AD200b at the London Bass Show. While the AD200 is REALLY nice, the small Bass Terror is not far behind. More power, smaller and lighter, and it costs much less than the AD200b. I've should have bought the Terror, but I didn't.....

| | | | Any word on how the quality of sound is on the new hybrids? I know a tube preamp can help make a difference and still keep cost down |

The quality of the sound is 100%, but it all depends of if you like the tone or not. |

| | | | Everybody talks about the TB500's 'angry' overdriven sound. I don't find mine to be like that at all. I use it with a P-bass with a vintage output pickup and Pyramid flats and it's just warm, rich, loud, and punchy. I swapped in a GE 12AX7 and it gives slightly more detail and less boom. We play country, soul, blues. Absolutely no Rush! |

Btw, the TB500 will have the latest Rush sound as Geddy is using the AD200 on the 2011 Rush tour :-) |

I actually slightly prefer the Terror tone over the Ad200 in Damon Wallers clips, I've owned a Terror for about 6 months & have been using it with a Jazz bass - mostly clean or slightly overdriven, it's my most played amp atm.
