OSP 8U ATA rack

Hello, has anyone had any experiences with OSP racks? I was looking at them and they look like a decent, inexpensive rack but then I looked through the forum and saw that some people had problems with them. Thanks guys.

i have about a dozen of their ATA type. IMO, they are great racks for the money. they have front and rear rack rails, and i like the fact that their heavy duty latches are on the lids too.

Wow what a set up. I hear some of the smaller unit ones have the handles on the lids and they've dropped thir stuff because the lid gives way.How are they on tour? Have you been out with them alot.

i can't imagine the lids coming loose since the latches are so robust, and i think they're only 1/4" ply (mayber they're 3/8"). i got them because they're fairly lightweight but still have the large round corners so they rest on them when setting them down like a briefcase.

i've used them for the last 8 months without any issues, so IMO, they're great, especialy for the $.

Great. I just placed my order for the 8 Unit rack now to finish filling it up with power conditioner, tuner, wireless and all that fun stuff. Anyone have ideas?

I used to have an 8 space shockmount ATA OSP rack case. I loved that thing but when I had it loaded it was well over 150 pounds so I had to get rid of it for my back's sake.

I would definitely buy from them again and recommend them.

that's why i went with two and three spaced ones, and just stack 'em if i need more rack spaces. i found it to be easier to carry one 2U in each hand than one heavier 4U one.

Can the hardware handle all of the weight, I'm 18 and still quite spry so I'm not concerned about the weight as long as the handles and plywood don't fail, I think I'd be fine. I'll def concider getting smaller, more managable cases in the future, I forgot about weight until after I ordered it.

Yeah the entire case always held up fine.

I'm the same age as you and that doesn't mean a whole lot. I'm not small, but there is having ability, and there is being stupid. Doing a lift like that by yourself leans on the plain stupid side, IMO. Especially with something as awkward and cumbersome as one of those rack cases.

I have a 6u 14" depth rack. 3/8" ply ATA. Seems like decent hardware and plenty of riveting. Can new with front and rear rack rails.

My only complaint is that the latches don't latch onto themselves where there is no with to prevent rattling (few do nowadays though) nor are they flush or butter flt out.

But these seem good units overall.

eBay returns

Thanks for all of the help, don't worry I won't try to lift it by myself, wealways double up. I orderedthe case and I got the package and opened it up...it's the molded case...I guess that's what I get for buying from eBay. So I guess I have to Return that, anyone have experience with that?
