The sub don't get much love , it's an EV SXA180 very powerfull & lightweight but so big !
It's fun to have an 18" for some synth sounds though !!!!
I only used it once on an outside gig where sound stage level was not an issue. (So much power in front!! )I use it only in rehersals and at home as my practice amp.
What do you guys use ?
EDIT; For the thread's clarity , a PA would be ; poweramp and cab ( or active cab )

I went to Bass pro shop and to my surprise they didn't have a single bass guitar.

Originally Posted by fokof I mean ; anybody using PA gear as bass amp ? | I've thought about it, as my band has a decent PA that we don't use at shows, and i have a crappy amp, but i've borrowed a friend's amp for the time being. PA's sound great, and that thing gets fat amounts of bass, especially when the keyboardist hits 808's. It shakes the whole practice room!

with this new breed of high power, low cost, low weight, class D amps.
I'm holding out for the Peavey IPR 3000. I want to connect it to the
DI from my current amp and augment my power (big time).
I'm satisfied with my tone; I just want more power. |

He's either ; playing an international known band or working for Meyer.
BTW , I'd have a UPA1P in a heartbeat if they were a little lighter.....

| Well you didn't say if cabs count. The P.A. starts with the AMP anyway...and yes I'm using a P.A. power amp so that means I am using P.A. gear as a bass amp. sorry if Ampeg gear offends you.
