pairing a 210 with a 112

wondering if anyone plays them together. i am aware of the difference in powering two speakers in one cab and one in the other. i will very likely go with another 210 cab. but i have notice gs112 cabs are not all that hard to find used. i will be pairing it with a db 210 powered by an ag500

Eden112xlt + Eden210xst is heavenly. Edenites call it the Corona Rig.

GS and DB cabs are voiced very differently - not sure that would be a good combo. I used to run Berg AE112 and AE210 cabs together and thought it sounded pretty good. But those are comparably voiced cabinets.

It's really less about the speaker sizes than it is about the designers' execution. To say paring a 1x12 with a 2x10 in general might have any particular sound is silly. That's because one design of a 1x12 can sound totally different than another design with the same speaker size.

So, it's much more useful to hear about specific combinations, not generic conjecture. I'm using an Avatar 1x12 and Avatar 2x10 right now. It sound pretty good to me with my Eden WT-400, but I haven't pushed it in a gig. There's a certain openess the Avatar 2x10 has that I really like, while I also really like the midrange character of the Avatar 1x12. Together they work, but I'm still not certain that I wouldn't like a pair of 1x12 better.

i have some interest in trying out an avatar 2x10 just not sure how that would work with the aguilar. another reason i want another cab other than running my head at four ohms and have how lows. is that my aguilar stays at home because i don't want to take it to practice every week i could leave another cab there and transport the head. i took the amp to practice last week everyone sounded better. i use a 70's all tube traynor with a 15 there not sure the tubes have ever been changed. not the best funk rock sound
