| It's really less about the speaker sizes than it is about the designers' execution. To say paring a 1x12 with a 2x10 in general might have any particular sound is silly. That's because one design of a 1x12 can sound totally different than another design with the same speaker size.
So, it's much more useful to hear about specific combinations, not generic conjecture. I'm using an Avatar 1x12 and Avatar 2x10 right now. It sound pretty good to me with my Eden WT-400, but I haven't pushed it in a gig. There's a certain openess the Avatar 2x10 has that I really like, while I also really like the midrange character of the Avatar 1x12. Together they work, but I'm still not certain that I wouldn't like a pair of 1x12 better.
