| | | | Pairing Aguilar cabs Hi,
I've recently bought Aguilar GS410 cabinet in 8 ohms.
I have also DB680 preamp. I mainly play reggae music so I need nice low end. I'm thinking about different combinations of Aggie cabs:
1. GS410 + GS212 both 8 ohms parallel
2. GS410 + 1xGS112 both 8 ohms parallel
3. Gs410 8ohms parallel with 2xGS112 4ohms series.
I read that two GS112 cabinets sound much better than one GS212 so I thought about it.
Thanks for advice.

The GS410 claims to go to 40Hz (the GS112 to 42) and has significantly higher sensitivity (101dB vs 95dB). The GS112 cabs wouldn't extend your low end at all. |

Get a second GS410 if you need more juice, or switch to a GS412. The Aguilar EQs have really deep lows, so you just need a clean high power handling cab and you'll get everything you need. |

Tom | Dude, don't be mixing driver sizes. There's simply no advantage, and you may very well introduce problems such as phase cancellation.
You want a powerful, modular Aguilar rig? Get a pair of 2x12 cabs, and call it a day.

| | | | I have a GS 2x12, GS 1-15. The 2-12 is all you will need. I have had 2-GS 1x12's. Stick with the 12's. |

| | | | Thanks for advice. I'm still waiting for the gear which is being shipped. The phase cancellation issue convince me not to mix the driver size. Maybe its better to take one 412 instead of combination 410 + another cab, but when I gig in the club sometimes I can't take 412. I'll look for the 412 or 2x112, so I will have possibility to create different sound in studio. I've got the answer, so the thread can be closed. |

| | | | I missed the fact that 412 is only 18 lbs heavier than 410. Plus it has response from 37hz. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
