I am trying to get some info on this cab and have yet to turn up any. Its a Peavey 1510 T-Fest- 2x15, 2x10, & 3 tweeters. I was curious as to what speakers may be in it originally and when they were made. Thanks.

Is that a horizontal 70's Portable PA cab?

The speakers are either Jensen or Eminence or a combination of each.

YEP, 70's PA cab. Great for it's day, and there are many in pristine shape. Find any church 40 or more YO, and you have a shot at finding a pair. I think you'll also find it has 2x 12's, 2x 10's and multiple horns.

any place i can research this thing? I may be picking one up this weekend for $100. Not bad price and it is in working order. I was told that they had Scorpions in them but again i have no idea. I would love to find ut wattage, ohms, etc....the guy that has is doesn't seem to know.

100 for the pair would be a marginal price. Scorpions are and where crap speakers, they can be ID'd by their aluminum squarish surround.

so is this a waste of cash to use as a bass speaker? I have seen the 3620(2x18, 2x10) used for bass purposes. Wasn't sure of this one.

Unless the speakers where replaced, that cab will have Eminence or Jensen in it. REGARDLESS, it's worth $40 if you're in love with it.

The 3620 isn't worth it, and it's 3 times larger.

well then i overpaid drastically! The guy that has it is running the same head i do and seems to like it. I am curious as to its sound and wish the week would speed by so i could check it out. It has everything i want in a setup with the 2x15 ad the 2x10.

Whats the difference in the 1520 cab?

I know this gear...

I"m confused of exactly what you're asking about.. there is no question or context.

---

There's nothing wrong with scorpions.. the reality is any speaker this old may need some maintennace..

PM me when you get photos - I'd love to help.

There is a 1520 cab correct?
The cab i am purchasing is supposedly called a 1510 T-fest. Assuming the numbers correlate to the speakers in them then 2x15 would be a 30 and 2x10 would be 20!
Is there a 2x15/2x10 that is strictly a bass cab or are they all PA cabs? Like i said i cant find much literature on the 1510 T fest so any info is helpful.

You did make yourself out to be an ass! "All of the **** you think is cool sucks ass......"
Great job...I guess you weren't in customer service at Peavey.

I never said that they were WORTH anything. I am not selling one or trading one. I bought one for a what i think is a good price. I am driving a good distance to get it and hoped somebody could prepare me for whats inside. Believe me , I have no praise for Peavey equipment! Its rugged and lasts the test of time but most of it sounds like Ampeg stuff...dull and lifeless. That is MY opinion though.

hopefully we can get back on line with this -- I"m sure most of us don't like trashy comments on a sincere question

The cabs are OK.. in thier defense, the cabinets from other mfgs have been destroyed and the Peaveys are still working.

You're really not finding info as they were a limited and obscure design... effort was put into other lines... the SP type stuff and veritcal 4 became the higher seller

Since it's "just a box" you can do mated ratings and drop in new drivers.. chances are if original they're in need of some love

In reality they may do exactly what you need.. for the price, they can be left places and not worry.. your audience will not articulate the difference.

Answer, they're an obscure specialty cabinet that may need maintenance.. they've outlasted many of their competing counterparts.

Tim

PS...PLStrns.. what did you do at Peavey?

Due his extensive knowledge of the gear and use of the english language, I would say: Janitor.

Anyway enough digs i am bored with it.
Peavey Customer service says it is an early 70's model and has NO documentation due to its year. it has Piezo(sp?) tweeters and CTS speakers in it. Probably 4 0hm. Customer Service said it is basically a box with speakers in it. HA! So you really nailed that one on the head, MNAirHead! Thanks.

They also told me that i shouldnt try to run more than 100watt through it. I was gonna use my Sunn Coli 300 to power it. The guy i am buying it from used the same head to power it and said it sounded fine. I think that maybe it has newer speakers in it as it never blew up on him.

I guess that if i put better, higher watt speakers in it that should work fine? Like i said i am picking it up this weekend and i only paid $100 for it...not like i broke the bank on it. Maybe i will get lucky and this is a decent cab.

something like this one? This is a Peavey 3020. They add the sizes for the name.

no --this one is stacked up from what i can see. 2x10's on horizontally on top of the vertical 15's.

The one in your pic is however the ONLY pic and slight resemblance to this cab that i have found.
