I had a friend who used two of these cabinets back in the early 80's with a Steinberger bass. I heard them at an outdoor gig and they sounded fantastic. But what price are they asking, and could you get a good 410 for the same price?

I am 85% sure that those were intended as guitar cabs. Looks like it's loaded with the old scorpion 12" guitar drivers...... I could be wrong, but I'd think it probably wouldn't sound as good as the 410 You have. I would also go as far as to say that those drivers wouldn't hold up to a lot of abuse from a bass guitar.

I agree. If you wanna go with a Peavey 412, try to find one of these:

They only made them for a coupla three years or so... But if you can find one, its a beast of a cab.

Peavey's 412 BASS cab is a monster, but I agree, what you've shown here looks like a guitar cab, and thus, NOT suitable for bass.

The internal volume is roughly the same between Peavey's 412 TXF and the old school cab. It's just that the 412 txf speakers are monsters that can't be tamed.

I had the Peavey 412 TVX cab, it delivers huge lows, but it's a dark sounding cab and heavy at 130/140 pounds ... IMHO

Really? I dont really consider mine dark sounding at all... I keep the tweeter between off and half depending on the room. All I hear coming from it is tubey goodness.
