Peavey 412 cab identification/details...

I’m having trouble finding any details on this cab, but it’s listed as a bass cab, 412 FC for only $250 used.

Is anyone familiar with this cab?

It's a guitar cab.

I suspected that, but wasn’t sure.

Yeah. The Scorpion speakers are a dead give away. The only 4-12 bass cab that Peavey made was their 412TVX. Sounded pretty good but weighed a ton (and a 1/2)

So is this a guitar cab? At 2ohms? I've got an offer for one of these locally(not this one). I want...

If that's the one that's ported top and bottom, it may have been thought of as a bass cab but if I recall, they were pretty shallow front to back. Not enough cab size to get good bass from 412's. They'd be 8ohm drivers all in parallel, could be rewired to 8ohms.

Please don't say you want 2ohms to "get all the power out of your amp".

No, I just didn't know that guitar amps came in 2ohm varieties. I'd need to rewire it as my amp is a 4ohm minimum.

So... this is not a bass amp and I can put down the pipe dream?

Thanks. :/

It's hard to tell. The "412M" in peaveys archived manuals is a straight front stereo guitar cab but it's a much newer model than that and says nothing about 2 ohms. It's not the 412M in that pic. May be worth finding out what speakers are in it. Don't have to give up the dream just yet.
