Peavey 60 Input Repair?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a Peavey Basic 60 amp and the main inputs are going out. The high one stopped working a few years ago, and the low one will crackle/pop if the cord gets moved while plugged in. You can jiggle the plug on the high one and find an angle to keep it on, not sure if that is a hint to the problem.

I pulled it open and am not familiar with the connectors inside. Are these something I can replace on my own? Any links to parts or a guide?

I took a picture of the connector. Thanks for any help!

Sean

sounds like you have a corrosion issue going on with the input jacks. is that RUST on the hex nuts?? if so, thats evidence of moisture/water in the inputs. I reccommend replacing the phono jacks. Find someone handy with a soldering iron.

I once bought a little Peavey bass amp that had a bad input jack. I used a traditional Switchcraft jack and soldered short leads into the circuit board. It worked perfectly!
