Peavey Bam 210, Your settings….

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello All,

I am a proud owner of a Bam 210 and I love it. I am just a little curious to see how other owners use it and to see what setting they are using. Pictures are more than welcome in this thread.

Thanks

Shaun

I haven't heard much about reliability problems with BAM, and I used to talk to the guy who designed a lot of it, and a lot of users have really loved it. So probably the only thing that could be improved is the weight. Hope some people here pitch in!

BAM!

I've had one for a couple of years now. Use it for practice so far and haven't really cranked it up yet.
I run it in default BAM mode with no tweeter.
On the front end I use a BlueMax compressor and a Sansamp BDDI.
When we play good sized clubs, with some help lifting it I plan to set it on top of a Peavey 810 TX - fits perfectly. Will probably use the pedal for a boost setting.

I have The Peavey BAM Head, I am very happy with the variety of sounds I can get out of it. Ive paired it with a Warwick 410 cab. Its A breeze to move around because it has castors and my lead guitarist is 6' 8"

I found one in a pawn shop the other day, tried it out, and put it on layaway. I don't really need another amp, but it was a good price, and I like the way it sounds.

I have a BAM 210 I gigged with for a couple of years off and on. It was always quite reliable. I normally use a SWR Redhead, so consequently, the BAM is usually set to the Redhead model! It's a great amp and now serves as my practice amp at the barn. This amp has plenty of pop and with an extension cab, this thing can get seriously loud!

I love the used BAM I just picked up but it had 2 reliability issues when I got it. First, the level LEDs on the compressor would cause audible static through the speakers when they lit or unlit. Rather than try to clean every pot and check every ground, I just cut through the grounding trace on the circuit board. Anyone else have this problem?

The other issue was that the fan was also causing audible noise. I got a new fan from Peavey and installed it in about 15 minutes.

Peavey emailed me the circuit schematics for the BAM to help troubleshoot the staticky lights. PM me if you want a copy.

I use it in conjunction with a 4 ohm 115BX BW, it's LOUD.

I bought a used one a couple of months ago and a weird voltage issue fried the output transistors. Just got it back and hoping to get this monster roaring again. I had one when they first came out and should never have sold it
