Peavey Basic 112 Time To Upgrade

Sign in to disble this ad
Back in 2001 when I bought my Fender AM Jazz Bass I bought a Peavey Basic 112 amp combo. While it is a durable 75 Watt amp that is great for practice I recently got togeather with friends that I used to garage band with and found its time to get more power and punch. So I am looking at another combo thats at least 150-200 watts. Looks like there are a lot of choices out there not to mention brands. Suggestions are welcome on opinions for something that is durable and reliable that will give me what I need. Also are online sellers like Sweetwater, Music 123, etc. good to buy from for this type of amp? Help greatly appreciated.

GK115MB? Great amp but you have to like the GK tone . Plenty of power and decent volume . Really you need to play through some to know if you like them .

Get something with a useable DI and kickback option..

Many small combos don't make sense.

If you're looking at getting more volume, you need more than just increased wattage, specifically, you need more speakers. That's why most gigging bassists use a 4x10. If you're set on a combo, make sure it can support an ext cab, or all that "extra" wattage will go to waste.
