Hey I'm looking at buying Peavey cabs, but I'm not sure whether they're descent cabs. I've seen the Headliner and VB series cabs wondering if anyone has experience with these cabs or specs (The peavey site won't upload specs for me when I click on the link) Also the Headliner series are studpid cheap, is this an indication of quality or just a damn good price from Peavey
Also Looked at an SWR Goliath III 410. Anybody knows how these measure up?

You can find great deals picking them up used though.

| | | | I'm intrigued by the Peavey Headliner series as well. I know they are sealed cabs, and I think they are made of MDF. They are rated for a crap-ton of wattage, too.
I was thinking of stacking two of those $199.00 2x10s vertically with a Hartke HA5500 to push them.

I didnt care for the speakers in them though and replaced them with eminence legend B810's. The ratings they give for those speakers are peak and continuous ratings. In reality i think the peavey speakers are just 75 watts each and sounded quite muddy to my ears. |

Buy 4 of them, put good power behind them and you will rock the house and your band mates even if the guitards have stacks. Think SansAmp RPM, Crest V1100 or CA 9 and 4 cabs run dual mono @ 4 ohms/channel on the power amp. A real Gibby T-bird or a sweet Fender Jazz 4 and you will rule.

I played two Peavey 115s for years through a Mark Iv head. They had Scorpion speakers, but still did a great job. Also played a BW-loaded Combo 300 for a long tome, too. The cabs were indestructible, the 300 amp died three times, still dead. It only cost $25 to fix the first two times. Anyway, I think all Peavey stuff performs well, and I think it's great that we all have a company like that around for affordable stuff that's as good as it is. AND reliable, for the most part.
If Peavey was all I could ever get, I'd be happy still.

Lightweight
Cheap
You can have two of the three. Peavey chose 1 and 3. I've used them for years.

I played a headliner 210 that I was considering buying. I was extremely disappointed with the headliner cab. The headliners tone are nothing like the more expensive TVX cabs. The sound was very thin in my opinion. Just my two sense. I would play through a headliner before buying one.

| | Why Can't We All Just Get Along? | | Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Somewhere near Raleigh | | | I just picked up a BX115-BW and 210TVX in excellent condition for about $280 for the pair. I was skeptical because they were so inexpensive, but my son's band just used them at an outdoor gig this past weekend, and they kick butt - that 210TVX is a heavy bugger.
In true Peavey fashion, everything is rock solid.
Good luck with your decision.
