Peavey Century 120 Bass Series (amp)

So I really got into my "new" amp head which cranks pretty good for I think 100 watts, which has a nice gain for it.

I have a few things I was hoping you guys had answers to:
(1) Have you used the "Booster" switch to record or have you just mic'd the cab. I know the power ratings on amps can be hastily crafted and not really true, but (2) what is the true power rating (is it only 100watt, 300 truely being a peak?) And (3) for those that have the 120 series (or 200 series if you will) what kinda cabs do you have it run thru (let me know if your fond of the tone from cab choice).

Thanks and sorry my post drags on a bit

Old thread, but just found it. If you're still there...

I had one of these a LONG time ago, bought it back in 1976 and used it for many years. In 1980, I bought a Mark III rig with a 2x15 cabinet and biamped it with the Century + 1x15 cabinet. Thing thundered! I sold it back in like 1983 or so. So to answer:

(1) I just mic's the cabinet

(2) I have no idea what that actual power rating was. All I can say is that the Century amp provided enough punch for gigs and that was before biamping it with the Mark IIII

(3) I used a 1x15 cabinet.
