Peavey Classic 400 crunch mod?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all!
I just bought a used Classic 400, and I love the normal channel! Those KT88's sounds huge! But the 'crunch' channel is nothing like the name- trebly, and nothing crunchy. Even when the gain is maxxed, all I get is some sort of a fart when I dig in.

Is there a mod that i can have the tech to do to have a distortion like, say, you get from a dimed marshall?

The schematic is here- http://www.hartsafire.com/classic400/
(thanks, James Hart)

i hate peavey schematics. That amp looks quite similar to http://www.schematicheaven.com/marsh.../2001_375w.pdf on first glance.
