Peavey Data Bass questions

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi Folks, my first post on Talk Bass. I have just acquired a Peavey Data Bass combo from the evilbay. Its LOUD, a large brute in a wee box! I have a couple of questions, the combo is bottom ported and I've noticed that the the amp's feet are non standard i.e very small. Does anybody know the correct height for the feet so the ports can work properly? Also the combo has been modified with an additional speaker out jack, reading the spec's 450 watts rms into 4 ohms, connecting another speaker cab might be a bit dodgy! Any info would be greatly appreciated. Cheers from the frozen north of Scotland

I used to have one of these when they originally came out. IIRC adding another speaker is a definite no-no, but I suppose it is possible that the added jack disconnects the internal speaker when plugged in which would make things safer. I cannot remember how high the feet were exactly but I suspect around an inch. Sorry I cannot be more specific, it was a long time ago. Hope this helps, anyway.

Hi Tim1, thanks for the info, I won't be using another cab with the amp. I only bought it for the pub gigs we do as hauling the full Marshall stack gets a bit much! Going to give it a spin Saturday night at a local gig and see how it goes. Thanks again.
