Im thinking on buying one of these since my 212 homemade cab was blown away by my peavey tour 700 head. Any review on this cab? Any suggestion? I think that for the price is good since it is 800w rms and 8ohm.

Thermal watt ratings mean almost nothing. Xmax doesn't mean everything, but almost. Since Peavey tells you which drivers they use and post their driver specs including xmax you can find out the real world power handling of the cab. Rule of thumb for tens: 3mm xmax equals 75 watts, 4mm equals 100 watts, 5mm equals 150 watts per driver.

If you read the fine print they are rated at 800 watts program which means they are about 400 watts rms for their thermal rating. Its misleading but does fool alot of people.

It's true. These are their cheap line of cabs anyway. You want to go with the VB line if your looking for quality at a good price.

Not stealing the thread but I am curious what the Headliner would be like with the Tour 450...that would be 300 watts @ 8 ohms I think. I don't think they say what kind of speakers are in it though. The old 300 Combo I have has a Black Widow...I don't know what's in the Headliner.
