Peavey and the Headliner Series

Sign in to disble this ad
Alright Peavey what is the deal? You have totally gotten rid of the mid-ranged stuff and replaced it all with Headliner. There is a new Headliner Head (600 watts going for $359) This has replaced the Tour 450 and Tour 700. This started with the Headliner Cabs which replaced the Tour Cabs.

So to recap there is the cheap stuff (Headliner) and there is the VB (Pro-Line) stuff, that is rated for the power I need to get over my drummer. I bought a Tour series Head (the 700), and was hoping to get matching cabs, but apparently the tour series has been phased out. Now they produce only VB (which are fenomanal cabs for the price) or Headliner (still a great deal, but at the sake of sound..I'm not impressed.

Any thoughts? I love cheap gear as much as the next guy, but not at the expense of sound quality!

The tour cabs are still for sale, I don't think they were replaced.

I believe there is overlap between both lines of heads, but the cabs are distinct lines.

I watched a demo of the Headliner 2x10 from some guy that bought it on Youtube.

The speakers sounded like a wet fart being squeezed through desktop computer drivers in a metal porta-potty.
